I guess coming here early paid off, as the lunch crowd wasn’t here yet. I assume that most of Hollywood/ LA is still sleeping in on a Saturday afternoon.
Upon arrival, the server suggested a Japanese stout in place of my usual Guinness I drink with burgers. To my surprise, he was money – “Express Stout” – Boom!
Oh, the burger and onion rings were excellent as well. Order the truffle burger. The umami burger was ok.

Personal Note: The burger was good. The brioche bread was excellent, but the patty was over cooked from my request for medium done. I like the topping selections, and you can never go wrong with an egg on top.

An Earl Kane bobber on Ebay….. Wish I had the dinero for this bad boy….
Earl Kane original. 1964 Frame with a 1970 Triumph 650 4 speed engine. This bike has been built using quality new parts by Earl Kane himself. earlsbikes.net. The motor was completely rebuilt down to the bare cases including the transmission. Sludge trap cleaned, crank polished, and all new bearings. The cylinder is now 20 over stock with new rings and pistons. New Vandervell English rod bearings were installed. Bonneville cams. The head has been surfaced, magnafluxed and had a valve job,exhaust spigots have been welded into the head. Original Amal carborator has been resleeved and works and idles flawlessly. The ignition is stock point with a single dual fire coil hidden under the fuel tank. A battery eliminator has been installed however a gel battery has been used for ease of starting. The Transmission has been completely gone through with new needle bearings and seals. The final drive is 21 tooth front sprocket and a 43 in the rear. Clutch discs, plates, springs and primary chain are all new. The exhaust is custom stainless steel 64 thousandths wall thickness that has been polished. The front forks are Marzocchi with shaved and polished legs. New roller bearing head set has been installed. Twin leading shoe front wheel with new brake shoes. The wheels and aluminum oil tank have been powder coated. The frame, fuel tank, and rear fender are 2 stage black paint with a clear coat sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. The front controls are original English not reproduction. This bike has 150 – 200 shake down miles on it and is ready to hit the road. This bike is not the Harbor Town bobber. About the Earl…
Born July 28, 1945, Earl built his first bike at the age of 8.
Fabricated out of a 26″ bicycle frame, 20″ bicycle wheels (each one running two nested tires – they lasted longer that way) and powered by a cast iron, horse-and-a-half one cylinder/four stroke Briggs and Stratton motor off an old Maytag washing machine… it was belt driven, direct drive and didn’t have a clutch so you had to peddle the bike to get the motor started and when you came to a stop sign or a red light either you went through or had to turn the engine off.
The first modification was to make the belt longer, add a spring loaded pulley (and reinvent the slip clutch).
Earl has been building and modifying bikes ever since.
