For some reason, I always catch myself watching “Almost Famous” over and over again. I guess it could be the fact that they play it continuously on HBO.
But this song is one of my favorites from that movie.

If you live in So Cal, then you know about the infamous Alberto’s, Alerto’s, Roberto’s, Albert’s, etc…
I was in San Diego one day, enjoying my beloved Carne Asada Burrito with ONLY cheese, rice, and sour cream, and I thought to myself, why are there so many variations in the restaurant names?
I mean, they all look the same. They all serve pretty much the same thing. So why the different names?
Well, I came across this blog and it had this story about it. It’s been so long since I visited that blog, so I don’t remember the site.
Anyways, it went on about how Alberto’s was the original chain. It was owned by a family and several brothers.
And just as Biggie said,
“Seven: this rule is so underrated
Keep your family and business completely separated
Money and blood don’t mix like two d**** and no b*****
Find yourself in serious shit”
So pretty much the brothers had a falling out, and everyone parted ways and divvied up the restaurants.
I’m not sure if that’s the real story… But that’s what I heard. If you have different story, hit me up.
Oh BTW… The burrito that I had coming home about 12am from my homie Moodz01’s home. MmMMMMmmm..Sooooooo…Gooooood!
These past few months have been pretty crazy……
But through everything we (Margaret & I) have been handling (wedding, new job, new ventures, etc), we finally are closing escrow on our new home.
As a few people know about me…… My latest addiction has been Mid-Century. I’ve been waiting to be able to get our home first before I started a whole new section on this site about Mid-Century. It has to been my latest passion.
Of course one of my favorite shows has to be MadMen on AMC. Anyways….. back to the home.
It’s a Palmer & Krisel home built in 1955. The home is located in Northern Whittier known as the Whitter Grove Estates. It was marketed as the homes for the modern savvy back in the mid 50’s. I’ll be posting some old ads and newspaper clippings about the tract.
